Nursery/ Meithrin

Croeso i'r Meithrin!

Nursery class teacher is Miss Jewell and teaching assistant is Mrs Giles!

Our first topic this year is 'our World' where we will be learning about our bodies; what they can do and how to stay healthy, and our families and people around us that look after us. We will post lots of pictures of us in class and our learning, so keep an eye out!

Our class rules in nursery are to remember kind hands and feet, sharing is caring, walking feet, listen to our teachers, always help to tidy up and learning to wash, wash, wash our hands independently. If we follow these rules, our DOJO monsters earn lots of stars and the 2 with the most stars at the end of the week are DOJO king/queen!

Currently we are only providing milk for snack time and we are unable to provide snack so please remember your healthy snacks and don't forget to cut up those grapes for your little mouths.

We have been busy learning to put our coats on ourselves!

Home Learning

To go along with our topic of ‘My World’ please can your child complete the homework tasks below during this term. If your child returns the homework or shows they are practising, then they will get rewarded with points for their DOJO monsters in order to get the end of week prize and DOJO champion title, as well as showing off their learning at home to you!

Draw a picture of people who help look after us in the world. E.g. police, doctors, nurses, fire fighters!

Practise counting your numbers up to 10 by singing number songs and playing counting games.

Practise pencil control with the correct grip

(2 fingers and a thumb) by drawing curves, straight lines and zig zags.

Listen to indoor and outdoor environment sounds and practise guessing what you can hear.

BBC Teach: Listening Skills is great for this!

Develop your physical skills: hopping, jumping, running and stopping, changing direction and riding a bike.

Start to practise tracing your name in lots of fun and different ways.
