Nursery/ Meithrin

Croeso i'r Meithrin!

Nursery class teacher is Miss Jewell and teaching assistants are Mrs Giles and Miss Roberts!

Our Spring topic this year is 'Animal Magic' where we will be learning about different animals, their characteristics, their habitats and where they live in the world, what they can and can't do, and what food they like and don't like to survive. We will post lots of pictures of us and our learning in class and from at home, so keep an eye out!

Our class rules in nursery are to remember kind hands and feet, sharing is caring, walking feet, listen to our teachers, always help to tidy up and learning to wash, wash, wash our hands independently. If we follow these rules, our DOJO monsters earn lots of stars and the 2 with the most stars at the end of the week are DOJO king/queen!

Currently we are only providing milk for snack time and we are unable to provide snack so please remember your healthy snacks and don't forget to cut up those grapes!

Last term, we all learnt how to put our coats on using the coat flip!

Home Learning

To go along with our topic of ‘Animal Magic’, we are sending home weekly paper packs and uploading regular work to Google Classroom. Please get in touch if you need any help or guidance with Google Classroom and their log-in details. Below are general goals to work towards whilst you're at home, learning, this term! We would love to see the work you're doing together, so please return work via paper packs and Google Classroom and post pictures of activities you are doing.

Draw a picture of animals who live in the Zoo! Can you describe them? Are they long/short, big/ small, kind/ scary?

Practise counting forwards and backwards up to 10 by singing number songs and playing counting games. CHALLENGE: Can you count on from a number other than 1 to 10?

Practise pencil control with the correct grip

(2 fingers and a thumb) by drawing curves, straight lines and zig zags.

Use your listening ears to listen to and guess the animal sounds you can hear. Can you make that sound?

BBC Teach: Listening Skills is great for this!

Develop your physical skills: hopping, jumping, running and stopping, throwing and catching, changing direction and riding a bike.

Practise tracing your name in lots of fun and different ways. You could use water, mud, sand, paint and crayons!

Nursery have been busy this term completing home learning!
