On the Move

This term our topic is  ‘On the Move’.  We will be looking at different types of transport and finding out about how different vehicles have changed over time!  Children will have the opportunity to explore our transport theme both inside and outside the classroom.

Year 1 will have the opportunity to :

• Use loose parts to make different types of vehicles.
• Explore their very own Roadside Café in the mud kitchen!
• Explore the different types of transport in the local area and create a tally of their findings.
• Find out about how aircraft has changed over time.
• Create their own airport runway and test which plane travels the furthest.
• Create their own obstacle course to take a cycling proficiency test! (they must make sure their bike is safe first!)
• Explore the artist Turner to find out about trains and how the picture of the train makes them feel!
